Happy Birthday LUANA!

Well, it's that time of the year again.

I must tell you - she doesn't age!!

I on the other hand, do age.

It startles me to say that I've surpassed her age on the planet... and more than a little chagrined to see how the new Prime Minister of France gets to brag about his "older girlfriend" - when I met Luana, it was about the same time difference.

But as they say... time heals all wounds.

And time is relative.

So here I am older than she was when she checked off the planet...

But - since then, as fans of "Flipside" and "It's a Wonderful Afterlife' and "Hacking the Afterlife" can attest... she has been visiting me quite a bit.

I SPOKE TO HER YESTERDAY.

I was filming a session between a medium and a close friend of Luana's and asked if she could "COME FORTH" to moderate the conversation.

She did.  Graciously.  Hilariously. Made fun of the person we were interviewing - gave him some writing advice (!) and generally had fun bending our ears.

I asked her "So how does one on the flipside prepare themselves to speak with someone on this side" and her response - before I could form the question was 'JUST LIKE ACTING. YOU PREPARE FOR A ROLE. YOU PREPARE HOW YOU KNEW THAT PERSON DURING THAT LIFETIME, AND APPEAR TO THEM IN THAT GUISE."

How cool is that?????????????

Happy Birthday Lu!

Well, the gal is still getting around the planet.

Was visiting her peach tree in Sally Kellerman's back yard the other day.

She's an olive tree in a cherry orchard in southern france.

She was an apple tree in my folk's backyard. But a new house went up, don't think they save the tree.

She's in the water in fountain in front of the Taj Mahal.

In the waters in front of the Sydney Opera House.

The waters in the Caribbean, the Indian Ocean, the Moscow River, the Seine, the Thames, The Brahmaputra, the Indus, the Ganges, the Sutlej, the Chicago River, the bay in Seattle, the creek behind the Dalai Lama's house...

Just some of the few places I've scattered her ashes.  I asked her where she wanted me to scatter her ashes and she answered "Wherever you go."

Just like Luana to give me a lifelong task.  It's only been.. hmm.. 19 years now.

And of course, I scattered some of her stories throughout the books "Flipside" and "It's a Wonderful Afterlife" and her appearances in my between life sessions and others (!).  I've had more than one person say to me "She appeared to me at such and such place and I felt she was sending me a message."

It's all good. That's the message. Just let go. Light a candle for your friends.  We are here, then we're not here, but we aren't gone, we're just in the next room.
